Who said lemon and sugar was just for pancakes?
Did you know that when gnocchi was first developed around fifteenth century, it was common to add a bit of sugar and cinnamon to the dough or as a topping? So that got us thinking... does gnocchi have to be strictly savoury?
With pancake day around the corner, we were inspired to get into the kitchen and start experimenting with sweet gnocchi. Spoiler: it 100% works.
A spoonful of sugar helps the gnocchi go down
This is a great recipe for people who are bored of pancakes; those who already had pancakes for breakfast but want to keep up the festivities into the evening; plus anyone who is up for something quirky, fun and yummy!
